A Star Spangled 4th!

It is time to dig out your red, white and blue T's, raise your flags and celebrate the birth of the US.  And to help you celebrate the area has many festivities to choose from.

Mandeville, Louisiana is home of the Seafood Festival which runs July 1-4 at Fontainebleau State Park which will be filled with rides, arts & crafts, and some of the best seafood you will find, all while enjoying a long list of great music from local rock groups, to blues and even nationally known groups.  Of course it would not be the the 4th without a great fireworks display over the lake.

Slidell Heritage Festival is runs all day on the 4th at Heritage Park.  Lots of fun by day including great food, displays of art and fun for the kids all with the background music of some of the areas best entertainers.  End the day with a fireworks display over Bayou Bonfouca.

Ranked #5 in the best Fireworks display by the American Pyrotechnic Association, GO 4th on the River is THE place to be to celebrate the county's birthday. Get pumped with pride while listening to the New Orleans Navy Band then grab yourself a spot on the banks of the mighty Mississippi River for the dueling barges Fireworks Extravaganza - one NOT to Miss!

Of course it would be difficult to attend each of these great events without a clone or the power of Bewitched.  But with a room at Woodridge Bed and Breakfast, it would be convenient to any of these highlights or merely escaping the festivities and have your own quiet celebration while watching the neighborhood celebration on the balcony.  Of course you don't need a national holiday to celebrate life, plan you escape today and make your own fireworks.
