Because YOU matter!

What matters most in your life?  You, your spouse and your family.

All the more reason to take time to:

  • de-stress
  • relax
  • rejuvenate
  • bond
In 2016 make it the year to focus on what matters most.  Don't just dream of taking that trip, plan it, book it - make it happen.

You don't have to travel far to set this goal, some of Woodridge Bed and Breakfast repeat guests travel less than an hour to get away from their daily life.  Just getting away from your daily routine may be all you need to refocus. In fact we have had guests as close as a few blocks away.  Yes, blocks!

Fall Street Fair and Concert

Mark your calendars for October 26-27, clean out your trunk and back seat.  It is almost time for Slidell's Annual Fall Street Fair.  Hundreds of booths with everything from Civil War memorabilia, Victorian furniture and cut crystal decanters to artist designer jewelry, outdoor decorations and much more.    The streets will also be full with music from local groups to serenade you while you shop or dine from one of vendors with great food.  The weekend fun will end with a concert by Vince Vance and the Valiants in Heritage Park.  Come on out and pass a good time!  #vincevance  #SlidellStreetFair #weekendgetaway  #Slidell

Live Theatre is still Alive and Well

Live Theatre a thing of the past?  I think not.  Slidell, while not Broadway, has its fare share of Theatre venues.  While the most historic of spots known as Minicapelli’s faded away prior to Katrina, other locations have stepped up to handle the ever popular entertainment provided by some of their own.
What May has on tap:
Slidell Little Theatre:  "The Producers" a Mel Brooks Production
                                 "How I Became a Pirate"
And don't think that theatre will stop just because there is a lack of stage venues:
The Shine Production: "The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged" will be hosted at one of Slidell's Art Galleries
The Cutting Edge is also become known for its unusual location but stellar performances

Visit Slidell, Louisiana and enjoy live theatre like no other!

A Sunny Sunday drive to the beach....

A beautiful Sunday drive, don't you just love them... taking the road less traveled!!

I remember when growing up each Sunday after changing out of our church clothes and eating our dinner we would all pile in the car and head to where ever the road lead us. With the price of gas today these drives are few but when we do they are cherished even more.

This was a short drive(30 minutes)and the view of the gulf water was worth every ounce of gas... Once we made that bend and the gulf was in view it was not long before we parked the car and let our feet dig deep in the sand and we rolled up our pants to keep the waves from dampening more than our legs. So relaxing and the water washed all the stress from our bodies as the waves massaged our feet. Then sat in the sand to watch and listen to the Seagulls and Least Terns as they flew in the breeze.

Back in the car we saw signs for Pass Cristian's Annual Art's Festival so we stopped for a stroll viewing all the local talent, hearing some great music and great food. We felt so relaxed after our afternoon drive, ready for what ever the week ahead held.

The gulf coast beach is located just 30 minutes from Slidell, LA and Woodridge Bed and Breakfast making it a great central location for your stay - combine beach, nature trails, small town charms and all there is to do in New Orleans - all without unpacking but once.
