Nothing says fall more than the county fair. And none are more attended than the Washington Parish Free Fair, which touts to be the largest FREE County/Parish fair in the country. The fair began in 1911 in a local livery stable. The parish fair runs October 16-19 with Old McDonald farm, demonstrations of Scotch-Irish & German settlers at Mile Branch Settlement, arts/crafts, and of course a great rodeo and rides.
